Through his work with Paco de Lucia and Return to Forever, the author of the standard “Spain” has forged a brilliant catalog of Latin-influenced jazz experiments. This year he is presenting his project Spanish Heart Band, a nod to his 1976 album My Spanish Heart. This pianist, winner of 22 Grammy Awards, will be accompanied on stage by seven virtuosos of flamenco and Latin rhythms. On flamenco guitar and on saxophone, Jorge Pardo and Niño Josele, who have been seen at Montreux alongside Paco de Lucia. On trumpet and on trombone, Michael Rodriguez and Steve Davis. And the incomparable rhythm section composed of Carlitos Del Puerto on bass and Marcus Gilmore on drums will set the tempo for star flamenco dancer Nino de los Reyes.
